Second Empire Mansion, home of the Red Dragon Boat Club located on the scenic Delaware River in Edgewater Park, New Jersey, was the location for Cavaliers of the Northeast’s Spring Fun Match in May 2011.  The day turned out to be slightly overcast but that didn't dampen the spirits of the exhibitors or their dogs!  Our delightful judge for the day was Kaye Ames who guided us through all of the classes for the 24 entrants, ending at 3:00 p.m. wherein the first raindrop fell at 3:01 p.m.!  Sabine Gregory happily judged our Fun Classes and winners emerged from the 'Bushiest Tail', Fastest Biscuit Eater' and 'Longest ears' competition.
As we rushed into the Red Dragon Boat Club Mansion at the first raindrops, a delightful luncheon was set up in the main dining hall and the feast began.  Good fun, jovial conversation and of course, plenty of expert advise on various dog breeding topics ensued.  A lovely time was had by all, new friends were made and a sense of comradery prevailed.
Bettylou Marter and myself, Karen Schwamberger, wish to thank everyone who participated, brought yummy food and generally helped to make the first Red Dragon Fun Match a huge success.  Our date for next year will announced shortly.  Please plan on attending.  Bigger and better things will be in store for next year, so plan on meeting us at the Mansion in 2012!
